Subharmonic centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers allowing a rotational mobility

Rotating machines are often subjected to fluctuating torques, leading vibrations of the rotor and finally premature fatigue noise pollution. This work addresses a new design centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers (CPVAs), used reduce in an automotive transmission line. These passive devices, composed several masses oscillating along trajectory relative rotor, here tuned at subharmonic targeted harmonic torque frequency. Thanks inherent non-linearities, CPVA with two phase opposition is able efficiently counteract input torque, particular features such as saturation phenomena. particularly extends previous works class CPVA, whose peculiarity that admit significant rotation motion thus adding benefit their rotatory inertia. Results on system’s response its stability obtained thanks analytical perturbation method, guidelines proposed.
